Thought Leadership

Thought Leadership

Thought leadership is a crucial tool for companies seeking to influence customers, policymakers and the public. A thought leadership report or website attracts attention and enhances the value of products or services.

Oxford Analytica specialises in thought leadership projects that provide innovative content based on expert analysis or original research. These projects have included scenario reports, risk identification and evaluation, econometric analyses, country indices, issue analyses, and client conferences, workshops and dinners.

Reaching potential customers

The value-added content of thought leadership reports, websites and conferences can be an important tool for turning a target demographic into concrete sales leads. Report content that is related to the products or services offered not only attracts prospects with a relevant interest but can also induce prospects to provide contact details or a contact opportunity. In conjunction with the client, Oxford Analytica designs thought leadership projects that contain high value-added content and are relevant to the client’s products or services.

Retaining clients

Increasing competition is a fact of life in many sectors, as globalisation and new technology facilitate new entrants into both emerging and mature markets. This can erode client loyalty and result in a value-added arms race, which the company providing products and services with greater value-added will win. Oxford Analytica’s thought leadership services assist companies in winning this race by providing reports, websites and client conferences designed to increase the frequency of client contact and expand the number of contact points within the client organisation.

Regulatory affairs and stakeholder engagement

The greater role of governments in the global economy and the increasing power of stakeholders mean that stakeholder engagement is now more crucial than ever. It can be difficult for companies to make their voices heard in a world of 24-hour media coverage and information overload. Oxford Analytica’s thought leadership services, especially in the areas of original research and expert analysis, provide organisations with a way to increase the impact of their message by backing it with rigorous analysis and the opinions of recognised experts.

Business Risk Reports

The Client

Ernst & Young

The Issue

Our client wanted a communication tool that would assist its global sector leaders in engaging in discussions with clients and prospects about strategic issues.

The Approach

We converted expert knowledge on emerging risks into an accessible and eye-catching early warning report.

We identified emerging risks by interviewing leading topic and industry experts from our network and the client, and ranked the top risks for each sector.

We produced reports for 11 sectors, offering narrative analysis and forecasts for each risk, and a report on the top global risks facing business across sectors.

The Result

The reports were well-received and widely cited in the press. More than 20,000 copies were distributed worldwide in 2008. The client commissioned another set of reports in 2009 and 2010.
